Location and transport

Find out about our location and transport details to make getting to school safe and easy.

Visiting the school

In order to provide adequately for the safety and security of all students, staff and property at the school, all visitors to the school are required to register their attendance on the school site.

Visitors are required to sign in at the front office and will be given a visitor's pass for the duration of their stay. Visitors are also required to sign out before departing the school.

Workers and contractors are usually identified by the name tags supplied by their employers and are required to sign in on arrival.

Parents who visit the school must first go to the front office. If they have an appointment with a teacher, that teacher will come to the front office to escort them to the place where the interview will be held.

If parents have approval to visit parts of the school without escort, they will be provided with a visitor's pass for ready identification. Other visitors including guest speakers, debate adjudicators are also required to sign in will generally be escorted while on the school site.

Under no circumstances should parents or other members of the public enter the school grounds without going first to the front office.

Where to park

Parents visiting the school may use the visitors' car park which is just off the first driveway into the school on the Coughlan Road entrance. THE SECOND ENTRANCE IS STRICTLY STAFF USE ONLY.

Drop off and pick up

Parents are asked not to enter the staff car park or the bus bay in the mornings or afternoons. This creates unacceptable congestion and poses a safety risk to students. Parents will also need to exercise great care in dropping students off in the mornings and picking students up in the afternoon. Do not enter the bus bay as this will incur a fine and demerit points issued by the police.

Getting to and from school safely

As a parent or carer, it’s your responsibility to get your child to and from school safely. Student safety is our priority.

Keep our school community safe by:

  • driving and parking safely, even if it means parking further away and walking the rest of the way to school
  • being a good role model
  • never calling your child from across the road
  • using the safest place to cross the road.

Student personal transport

Bikes

A bike compound is situated between the special support and English blocks. Helmets must be worn. Once on school grounds, students are to walk their bikes to the compound. All bikes must be kept locked on the bike racks during school hours.

Scooters and skateboards

Scooters may be brought to school but not used within the school grounds. They are to be locked up in the bikes compound. No responsibility is taken. Skateboards are not allowed.

Subsidised school travel

Transport for NSW provides subsidies to assist school students.

  • The School Student Transport Scheme provides eligible students with free or subsidised travel on public transport between home and school.
  • The School Drive Subsidy may help towards the costs of driving children to school if you live in an area where there is no public transport.
